Please Contact us for more information. We love talking drum circles!
A trained facilitator provides simple activities and equipment that allows a group of people with no musical experience to come together and make music. Programs are planned that compliment your group's goals. Drumming activities can be planned that create metaphors and lessons on topics beyond drumming. The facilitator uses building block activities that empowers the group to communicate and grow together.
Any group of people can have fun making music together! Specific types of programs:
No, We do not provide clinical services. Our programs can incorporate educational activities, but nothing that we do is therapy or should be construed as therapy.
In short, you provide a theme or intent, the participants, location and chairs. We will help plan activities that compliment or develop your theme. Themes generally fall into one of three categories: Physical or Emotional Health, Community and Team Building, or Fostering Fun and Creativity. Your location with chairs should be located away from other activities that may be adversely impacted by loud music. Likewise, the drumming event should not be near DJs or other sources of sound. Out-of-doors activities should have rain and shade contingencies.
Each event is unique and pricing varies based on a number of factors. Those factors include the number of participants, the length of the program, the amount of planning for the program, the location, and the ease or difficulty accessing the location. An example of an event cost: 25 people, in Mecklenburg County, one hour with limited program planning: $300. We offer non-profit discounts. Our tithing of free events is currently filled to capacity (but please contact us about discounts for charitable causes).
No! Musical experience is not needed. We use simple, non-threatening techniques that allow people to ease into activities. Our program provides all the needed equipment. Participants may bring their own drum.
No, our program is experiential. While we use instruments from may cultures, we encourage groups to create their unique sound in an interactive manner. We believe that it is important to honor source musicians that represent vibrant rhythm-cultures.
